News About Event Photos
With hundreds of photo files from all OLC 2025 events, the volume and size are substantial—so sorting and organizing them has taken some time. Once the process is complete, the photos will be uploaded to the cloud, and a link will be provided for attendees to view and download them. The link will be available on this official website in the coming days. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Agenda changes
Prof. Francesco Simon’s presentation has been rescheduled to K-02 at 10:55 on Monday (SIII)
Dr. Bahman Taheri’s presentation has been rescheduled to K-06 at 10:55 on Tuesday (SVII)
For transportation from Taipei Taoyuan Airport to host hotel
For transportation from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport to the host hotel (CHATEAU DE CHINE KAOHSIUNG), please refer to the conference website for transportation information: https://olc2025.conf.tw/site/mypage.aspx?pid=52&lang=en&sid=1613.
The conference committee suggests the international participants of OLC 2025 to book the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) ticket (online booking: https://irs.thsrc.com.tw/IMINT/?locale=en) as early as possible because the THSR from Taoyuan to Kaohsiung is loaded during holidays. Before booking, be sure to conservatively estimate the travel time from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport to THSR Taoyuan Station. This includes time spent going through immigration, collecting luggage, and the transportation time from the airport to THSR Taoyuan Station (~0.5 hours by taxi or Airport MRT).
If attendees miss their scheduled train, their reserved tickets are still valid for any train bound for Kaohsiung (Zuoying Station is the last southbound stop), but they will only be in non-reserved carriages, and there's a high chance of no available seats and a high chance of full luggage storage (due to the significant increase in boarding volume after the high-speed rail passes through Taipei Station to the north). Fortunately, after the train passes Taichung Station (40 minutes after departing from Taoyuan Station), the number of passengers continuing on the train decreases significantly, and there will be significantly more available seats. Upon arrival at Zuoying Station, the final stop, attendees are advised to find a taxi stand. It's more convenient to take a taxi directly to the host hotel (taxi fare of NT$500 is sufficient) (taking the Kaohsiung MRT will require a transfer, which is less convenient). Regarding the return trip, foreign participants are still advised to book tickets in advance based on their own itinerary.
Notes: International flights to northern Taiwan are often marked as arriving in Taipei (TPE). This is because Taipei City is more familiar internationally, not Taoyuan City. The airport is actually located in Taoyuan City (just south of Taipei City). Therefore, the high-speed rail station you should be heading to is Taoyuan Station, not Taipei Station.
NEW INFORMATION
(1) Student paper awards
To encourage active student participation, the conference committee has established several student paper awards, including oral and poster presentation awards. The top three oral presentation awards will receive prizes of NT$15,000, NT$10,000, and NT$6,000, respectively. The poster presentation awards are divided into two groups, A and B, with the top four in each group receiving NT$4,000 each. The conference would like to thank the sponsor, Taylor & Francis Group, for providing these prizes.
(2) Proceeding of OLC 2025
The conference will publish the Proceedings of OLC 2025 as a special issue of Liquid Crystals. This special collection is dedicated to the memory of Professor Corrie Imrie, the journal's Editor-in-Chief, who passed away unexpectedly in January this year. We honor his many years of invaluable contributions to the liquid crystal community and cherish the memory of his friendship. We encourage submissions to Liquid Crystals for inclusion in this special issue.
Final Call for Papers
Dear OLC 2025 speakers and attendees:
We cordially invite you to submit your abstracts to the OLC 2025 conference. The final deadline for abstract submission (oral presentation) is extended to April 25, 2025 (11:59 PM Taiwan Time UTC+8). The conference will no longer accept abstracts for oral presentations after this date.
The deadline for abstract submission for poster presentations is April 30, 2025 (11:59 PM Taiwan Time, UTC+8). Please submit your manuscript as soon as possible through the conference's online submission system:
https://olc2025.conf.tw/site/mypage.aspx?pid=41&lang=en&sid=1613
Abstracts submitted after the submission deadline for poster presentation will not be eligible for the Student Paper Award competition for poster presentation.
